Do you want to loose weight and keep it off? If you could loose 2 lbs a week that would mean a fantastic weight loss of 104 lbs for the year. Wow wouldn’t that be great!

When you look at it that way it makes the 20 - 40 lbs you need to shed seem very achievable.

Remember that if you eat next to nothing your body goes into starvation mode. The metabolism slows down which makes it difficult to shift the pounds.

When you crash diet the first thing you loose is fluid, so loosing 10 lbs or so is easy but you will probably put it back on and more once you resume a correct diet.

The best way of course is to eat correctly and not forgetting exercise. For some people eating several small meals is good as it keeps your metabolism-working helping to continually burn the calories.

It’s a similar thing with exercise if you can do several small bursts of 10 -15 minutes at a time this keeps the metabolism working and is probably more beneficial than one long exercise regime. i.e. A brisk 10 minute walk can get the heart pumping so cardiovascular as well as burning the calories times this by three and it is more, or of equal benefit to a thirty minute workout.

The whole Western way of life, its ever faster pace, lack of quality relaxation time fuels the obesity and weight gain issues that many of us struggle with. Our diet is over processed and in many instances contains additives that actually promote weight gain and certainly do not help towards a healthy lifestyle.
