Its Sam Russell here again. Lets face it we all kid ourselves over having a fat tummy. “Oh I’m just a bit cuddly”  etc. The real facts are we all need to lose the Excess Body Fat and here’s why:

Since you are just beginning your fat burning workout you have no need to feel any shame that your body is not as toned as others but believe me that doesn’t help when you’re having a “I’m very fat” day.

 

Think about it why is obesity a 21st century problem ? Because our lifestyles are different to our parents. They didn’t travel everywhere by car, didn’t have take-away meals or such heavily processed food containing all the additives , sugar and salt that we have today.

 

So ultimately our lifestyles work against us. Recognise this fact and become determined to make some changes. Do you want to loose weight and keep it off? If you could loose 2 lbs a week that would mean a fantastic weight loss of 104 lbs for the year. Wow wouldn’t that be great!

When you look at it that way it makes the 20 - 40 lbs you need to shed seem very achievable.

Remember that if you eat next to nothing your body goes into starvation mode. The metabolism slows down which makes it difficult to shift the pounds.

When you crash diet the first thing you loose is fluid, so loosing 10 lbs or so is easy but you will probably put it back on and more once you resume a correct diet.

The best way of course is to eat correctly and not forgetting exercise. For some people eating several small meals is good as it keeps your metabolism-working helping to continually burn the calories.

It’s a similar thing with exercise if you can do several small bursts of 10 -15 minutes at a time this keeps the metabolism working and is probably more beneficial than one long exercise regime. i.e. A brisk 10 minute walk can get the heart pumping so cardiovascular as well as burning the calories times this by three and it is more, or of equal benefit to a thirty minute workout.
